Reflecting on 2023: A Year of Milestones and Design Inspiration

As we settle into 2024, we can’t help but reflect on the previous year with fondness. There was much to celebrate in 2023, from exciting collaborations to a significant anniversary for our team.

Join us as we take a look back.

Team Milestones

Perhaps the most significant achievement of 2023 was the 10th anniversary of Acampora Interiors. The team surprised our Founder and Principal Designer, Corinne Acampora, with a celebration in our offices, acknowledging the decade of dedication, hard work, and passion that has propelled the firm to where it is today.

We couldn’t have reached this moment without an incredible team, fantastic industry partners, and trusting clients. We extend a sincere thank you to every one of you who has been part of our first ten years.

Our team made time to celebrate other moments throughout the year, too. We enjoyed our outings to the Brimfield Antique Flea Market and the Field + Supply Fall Market, two trips that were chock-full of inspiring sights and set our interior designer hearts atwitter.

We also spent time simply enjoying each other’s company, particularly during the holiday season. Our Thanksgiving potluck allowed us to share our favorite recipes, while our holiday lunch and stroll through the Seaport’s Snowport gave us time to indulge in some retail therapy.

Our team also expanded and evolved this year. We welcomed Meg Donoghue as our Studio Support Assistant and Colleen Mulcahy was promoted to Senior Interior Designer.

Inspired By

When you work in a creative field, cultivating a wellspring of ideas is essential. Our team found inspiration all around — whether we were traveling for work or pleasure.

In New York, Corinne and Senior Interior Designer Shannon Frappied were awed by the handmade tiles on display at Mosaic House, while a visit to La Mercerie expanded their conception of what a dining experience could look like.

2023 was also the year that European travel came roaring back, and Shannon and our Purchasing Manager, Jane Zapf, each planned incredible vacations abroad.

Shannon’s cosmopolitan adventures in London and Paris unearthed incredible design finds in both cities, while Jane’s time in the French countryside reminded us of the stunning qualities of natural light.

Closer to home, Corinne spent time in Vermont and Nantucket, where she nurtured her love of the New England flora and fauna.

Industry & Press

We also found inspiration in the work of our peers. Our team enjoyed attending the IFDA Awards Gala and New England Home’s Hall of Fame event and celebrating exemplary members of the residential design community.

Acampora Interiors received accolades of its own in 2023 as well. Our Watch Hill project was featured in a New England Home editorial, and Corinne shared some design secrets we employed in our suburban retreat project in Boston Design Guide.

Finally, Corinne was featured in the pages of Vogue, where she revealed the early life moments that inspired her to pursue a career in interior design.

Projects

Of course, no reflection on a year would be complete without a look at our projects. 2023 was a busy year in which we traversed New England — spending time on projects down the Cape, on Cape Ann, and beside one of New Hampshire’s glacial lakes.

There are few things as rewarding as watching a home progress from the first breaking of ground on a new site to the final install day, and we have delighted in the progress at our projects in Lake Sunapee, NH; Gloucester, MA; Osterville, MA; and Orleans, MA.

We also celebrated the reveal of two recent projects: one in Weston, MA, and the other in Watch Hill, RI.

Weston is located just outside of Boston, and our suburban retreat project transformed a house into an oasis where our clients could escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy cozy gatherings with family and friends.

Our Watch Hill coastal classic project helped two young families realize their vision of building a summer home they will be able to enjoy together for years to come. The property features indoor and outdoor living spaces perfect for formal parties or informal get-togethers.

We look forward to seeing what 2024 has in store. Many exciting projects are already in the works, and we know that our 11th year will include stunning reveals, new opportunities to flex our creative muscles on behalf of our clients, and surprises we can’t conceive of yet.
